Frogs: Level 2 Reader
Bishop, N. (2015). Frogs: Level 2 Reader. New York, NY: Scholastic Inc.
Summary: Frogs is a non fiction book written and photographed by Nic Bishop. Vibrant photography allow the reader to be fully immersed in the pages. Descriptions, large text, informative facts, and simple sentences allow an emergent reader into the world of frogs.
Response: I love non fiction Science books for kids If we can't experience these animals in real life, these photographs sure take us there.

Walk Two Moons
Creech, S. (1994). Walk Two Moons. New York, NY: Harper Collins.
Summary: Two stories intertwined as a granddaughter travels with her grandparents to Idaho in search of getting answers about her mother. Salamanca Hiddle is on her way to find out what happened to her mother and why she hasn't come back. To keep themselves occupied in the car, Sal, tells stories about her friend Phoebe, journal writing in her English classes, and her investigations. After much "detective" work, many mysteries will be solved, curiosities alleviated, and life goes on.
Response: Natural consequences are hard to make sense of sometimes. I'm glad the author does a great job of ending the book where the reader feels a sense of closure.
