Visually Speaking...INFOGRAPHICS

Visually Speaking

INFOGRAPHICS

Infographics are beautiful, stunning to look at, and help with creating and sharing information with graphics.  I have investigated three infographic platforms: Easelly, Piktochart, and Infogram.  I hope to share highlights of the styles, ease of use, and flexibility in an educational setting.

Easelly provides a variety of ways to share information in a creative and hassle-free way.  I enjoyed looking at all of the graphics, high quality templates were clear and exciting to look at, and last but not least, you can share your infographics with your favorite people and educational clientele.   Easelly may be a platform to use to share data and pertinent information in a profound and visual way!

Check out their introduction video to see if Easelly will fit your needs!

Catching viewers attention is not going to be difficult if you use Easelly.  As a librarian, I will be able to share statistics regarding literary topics, share the importance of librarianship, inform my students about the physical and digital collections, and even allow the students to create some infographics to display around the campus!

Clear, crisp, clean images in the Piktochart templates help the user create stunning presentations, posters, reports, and flyers.  You can't go wrong even if you are just experimenting with the platform.  You will be pleasantly surprised at how easy it will be to impress your audiences.  As a librarian, there is even the Pro option where you can utilize team templates to share and create collaboratively.

Check out the samples of "inspiration" others have created.  I enjoyed reading some of the comments on the page. Obviously, infographics stir emotions and get interactive results!  Considering we work with hundreds and even thousand of students on a daily or weekly basis, using Piktochart could be well worth sharing with them to use on projects and presentations or debates.

Piktochart has share an introduction video you may find helpful in deciding which platform to use for you next project or assignment.

Infogram is also here to bring joy using information visual tools.  "Infogram can help with infographics, reports, slides, dashboards, Facebook posts, and responsive web and mobile layouts".  A very informative introduction video will help you understand how Infogram can be of service to you!

Infogram is equally attractive to work with.  Hundreds of templates, ideas, and samples to look at if you get stuck.  "Infogram is a data visualization company that helps people create infographics, reports, dashboards, maps, charts and social media assets."

Librarians use Infogram for a variety of ideas such as event planning, shout outs on Facebook, announcements of events on campus or district wide, presentations to the school board regarding library programs or funding, plus sharing new statistics for needing additional resources to the physical collection.

I have chosen the Piktochart webapp to use and create an infographic in my new role as a librarian. Piktochart had a ton of choices for the free version.  I was able to show why librarians matter based on Keith Curry and Debra E. Kachel's online journal article dated March 26, 2018.  I hope I conveyed the message of a few highlights from the article well.

Check out the link for a clearer view.  Let me know what you think.  I'd love to hear feedback.

You can also search more comparisons with the company G2.  Here you can do more research on other creative platforms.  A comparison tool is available if you are stuck and can't decide which one to experiment with.
